With the exception of a few decent action sequences, this is an extremely dull, ridiculously over the top and disappointing sequel that simply lacks the originality and excitement that made the first one so special. There’s no regard for the story or the characters but rather just the desire to showcase more visual effects and make the world of The Matrix even weirder to the point where I wish they just left it with the first one. There’s just no reason to be invested and by the end I didn’t even know or care what the fuck was going on. Also, that scene where Neo fights all the Agent Smiths, is some of the worst CGI I’ve ever seen.
