I was really enjoying it until the last act turns everything upside down and I’m just still not sure if the ending worked for me. But overall, this is an incredibly deep and complex film that brings up moral questions and problems that I can’t even begin to process or answer myself and I think it’s fantastically directed also. Schrader brings out a wildly unsettling tone and it really works. Also, Ethan Hawke gives an amazing performance and I can’t believe he wasn’t nominated for it.
