An epic, brilliant, hypnotizing, visceral, haunting and dream-like masterpiece. The cinematography, the editing, the score, Martin Sheen, Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Dennis Hopper. Simply an unforgettable film and there’s no better war film to me. This is my second viewing and I still can’t fully wrap my head around Col. Kurtz’s speech at the end. That’s what I call masterful subtlety. I want to be challenged when I watch a film. I don’t want all the answers right there in front of me. And challenging me, is exactly what Coppola does with this film.
Oh also, I too love the smell of napalm in the morning😌.
