So I just watched the Super-Sized R rated version and in terms of that cut it’s a very mixed bag. Some of the jokes are certainly really funny like in the extended Champ’s restaurant scene but a lot of them also fall completely flat and it’s understandable why they were left out of the original cut. But really the big problem is that instead of simply adding new jokes, they sometimes replace the best jokes with those new jokes which makes it a much less enjoyable watch. But in terms of the actual movie, this is glorious and without a doubt my favorite comedy of all time. Every damn watch is absolutely gut-busting and I can endlessly quote it. The news fight is literally one of the most epic moments in cinematic history! I’m in the minority but for me it very much trumps the first one and I have no understanding of why people were disappointed by this. It’s one of my most rewatchable movies.
