Ok yeah I definitely forgot how great this movie is. Fincher is a master of subtlety and mood creating and Sorkin is a master of dialogue. In fact, the dialogue is so good, I sometimes had to jump back 10 seconds just to hear a line again to fully wrap my head around it. And even though I can’t stand Jesse Eisenberg, there was no one that could’ve played Mark Zuckerberg better because I also can’t stand Mark Zuckerberg. And damn, the score and the cinematography are unforgettable. But by far the best thing about this movie is how relevant it is, even a decade after it came out and even though Facebook and social media has changed so much since then. It brilliantly explores the way the internet has changed society and examines how it changed people. And plus, it’s a wildly engrossing character study. It’s such an engaging story, that it didn’t even need to be based on true events. It’s a fantastic story on its own merits.
