The first act is horribly written and for the entire film I hated that Stanley Tucci’s character had no logical motivation, but I can’t deny how goddamn entertaining this movie is! It’s just so heartwarming and funny and Tom Hanks is just so likable. The most amazing thing though is that Spielberg is such a master, he’s able to make a wildly enjoyable movie even if it’s somewhat pedestrian compared to his other great movies.
