This is the most magical movie ever made and one of the most underrated ones also. There’s something so subtly beautiful about the way it captures the majestic spirit of Christmas and that childlike wonder that gives you goosebumps. I love the fact that it encourages imagination and tells you that you can believe in something even if it isn’t right there in front of you. Few movies make me feel the way this one does. It’s simply awe-inspiring and wonderful. And I know people like to rip on the visual effects but if you consider that this movie was made in 2004 and was one of the first uses of motion-capture, it did a pretty damn good job. The characters look wacky sometimes but Zemeckis knows how to create some beautiful visuals. I will just always love how beautiful and moving this film is.
