I really don’t know why I didn’t like this the first time I saw it. This is a brilliant character study about a guy who simply has no idea when to stop. And of course, Paul Newman, Piper Laurie and Jackie Gleason are all AMAZING. It definitely could have had better pacing though. There are certainly some slow parts, especially during the second act.
