Although Leo gives another one of his masterful performances here, it’s one of Scorsese’s weaker films because it doesn’t do the best job at exploring Howard Hughes as a person beyond his severe OCD. Hughes always feels distant from the audience and there simply isn’t enough emotion and not enough reasons to care about the story.
