Although the characters are likable and there’s some ok action, this is yet another disappointing 2019 sequel. The first two acts are painfully boring with poorly done CGI and there’s some really shitty dialogue. It’s basically just telling the same story as every other Terminator movie bringing nothing new to the franchise. Fortunately the characters and the performances are enjoyable and the film definitely picks up during the third act when Arnie finally shows up (although it’s never explained how he’s alive). Just like Genisys he’s the best part with some really funny jokes. It’s not awful or anything but it’s certainly not the T2 sequel I’ve been waiting for. Also, it features what’s probably the worst use of de-aging yet.
