Easily one of Spielberg’s best. A tense, amazingly shot and endlessly moving war film. Honestly, one of the best directed movies I’ve ever seen. Spielberg really makes you feel like you’re right there on the front lines. It also does a fantastic job at exploring the true horrors of war and the heavy toll it takes on those involved. The only tiny issue I have is that I think the very last scene is a little forced and unnecessary. But overall, probably my favorite war film right next to Apocalypse Now.
