I love Guillermo Del Toro’s imagination, the themes he explores and all the visual aspects of the film but I just wish he didn’t focus so much on the stepfather and the whole guerilla army subplot because it’s simply boring. I would much rather have seen Ofelia meet and interact with more fantastical creatures.
