I think I could watch this movie every day and never get bored.

This never gets old.

“Is everybody ok?”

“Well the fuckin’ hippies aren’t, that’s for goddamn sure.”

Yep after a second viewing, I can definitively say I love this movie.

“When I was a kid, I had a Bounty Law lunchbox. That was my favorite of all my lunchboxes.”

I’ve talked enough about how much I love this movie. Still… the best film of the year.

“I’m as real as a donut motherfucker.”🍩🚬

I watched the first and last acts again since it’s on digital today. Still awesome and still the best movie of the year. Fuck Parasite.

So I bought my ticket to the “Extended Cut” that was supposed to have 10 extra minutes of footage and for whatever reason, the theater I saw this movie in just played the same cut I had already seen 5 1/2 times! It’s still my favorite movie of the year and it was fun to see it again but I was fine to wait until it came online for my 7th time! It was the extra footage that brought me back to the theater and I didn’t get any of it. Plus, I had to go to a theater that was a 40-minute cab ride away from my house. What a pain in the ass. Damn you Regal for not checking that you got the right hard drive!!!

Ok so I only saw the last half for the sixth time but it’s still the best movie of the year.

This time it was particularly funny and I think it’s one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen. But it’s so deep and so well made. Rick and Cliff are still gold and it’s still the movie of the year.

And for a fourth time it still never gets old. Some parts are certainly slower because you want to get to the best parts but it’s all worth it. It’s all building to the explosively hilarious ending that I could watch forever. I can’t wait until it’s online so I can watch even just the can throwing scene over and over again.

This was a lot to take in on first viewing. I would certainly need to see it again to know I how I definitively feel about it, but it was a damn good time at the movies. Tarantino once again brings his original flare and personality with enticing dialogue and wildly likable characters in Rick Dalton and Cliff Booth. Leonardo DiCaprio gives the best male performance of the year so far as a somewhat washed up TV cowboy actor, having a kind of mid-career crisis. Once again he seamlessly blends into Rick Dalton’s persona. Brad Pitt is the best he’s been in years. He’s reserved, badass and hilarious all at the same time. Dalton and Booth’s friendship has a lot of heart and they make the film incredibly entertaining. The cinematography and the costume and production designs bring you back to 1969 Hollywood and all work together to create a classic feel. The ending is insanely unpredictable and it really had me thinking when I left the theatre. It was a little disappointing to see that a lot of the top billed actors like Margot Robbie and especially Kurt Russell, Al Pacino and Dakota Fanning play characters that don’t show up for more than a few scenes and are pretty much pointless. And although it’s enjoyable that the film is meandering and meditative and many scenes are just dialogue, there are some scenes that feel a little inconsequential to the overall plot. But all in all, this is another awesome Tarantino film with stellar performances from Leo and Brad, great dialogue and some things to think about after you leave.
