A wildly entertaining, sardonically hilarious, tense and somewhat disturbing exploration of Manhattan’s nighttime underbelly. It definitely gets a bit nonsensical towards the end but overall, movies like this, Hugo and Silence show that whenever Scorsese leaves his comfort zone, magic happens.
